  Biasing:

Biasing (adjustment of power tube audio signal dc voltage) needs to be done whenever power tubes are replaced and occasionally during the life of power tubes. Correct biasing makes power tubes run in their proper operating range. Improperly biased power tubes can cause costly damage to amp components, premature tube failure, bad sound, etc.

  True Bias Circuit Upgrade

True Bias Circuit installation: The best way to bias tube amps is with separate controls so each power tube or pair of power tubes can have their voltage set individually. The true bias circuit is by far the best biasing method for any tube amp.
Also available: Common Bias Circuit Installation; a conversion from bias-balance to the common bias-circuit found in older vintage Fender amps. This circuit relies on having matched tubes and matched bias circuit resistors to balance the circuit. An adjustable current control to bias the power tubes is used in this vintage Fender biasing scheme. Not as good as the true bias circuit, but can be much better than the bias balance.
